To add to what Austin said:
Many of the Office MVPs probably have more than one version of Office
installed
MS doesn't support it, but tries to make it always possible. See
http://pschmid.net/blog/2007/04/20/110 . There is a link to a Knowledge
Base article talking about how to have multiple versions installed.
The key thing when doing this is that you have the install from oldest
to newest. So 2003 first, then 2007. If you didn't install in that
order, remove them in the reverse order you installed them in, and start
over. Make sure to fully patch each version first before installing the
next one.
You should know that after every time you installed updates for 2003,
2007 might get annoyed and you'll see lots of configuring office 2007
dialogs. In that case, you can either sit them all out or just run a
repair of Office 2007.
However, there is no guarantee that the two versions won't interact in
some odd fashion for a few areas of the program. As Austin said, you are
on your own with that. If you need clean installations of both copies,
you might want to consider using Virtual Machines.
