I am trying to transfer from Express to Outlook on a recently built PC running XP Pro with MS Office 2003. On trying to open Outlook it hangs whilst trying to open a "Welcome" page and then a message appears advising that "MS Server is not available". I am aware that I need to use POP3 but the programme does not allow me to get to the stage of specifying this.
Strangely, if I try the same thing on my "old" PC (which runs XP Home and MS Office 2003 and is connected to the same router and sharing the ADSL connection of my "new" PC) I am taken immediately to a page giving me five choices of type of server, including POP3 of course. For particular reasons, I do not wish to use the older machine for e-mail.
How can I get my new PC to allow connection, please?
