I have Office XP Professional Edition installed. I wish
to install Outlook 2003 without doing a full upgrade to
Office 2003 and replace Outlook 2002 I currently have
installed.

1. Can I do this?
2. Has anyone done it successfully.

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes.
2. Yes. Although some functionality will be lost, including the ability to
use Word as an email editor, perform automated mail merges from Outlook, and
the ability to use File, Send To from Office applications.

Hello,

I am trying this and it is failing to work.

Our Office XP Install used a Transform file. With this in
mind, how can I install Outlook 2003 only using an MST
file?

If the MST is appllied to a PC without Office XP it
installs just fine. If Office XP is installed already
(our build uses SMS and an MST file), it does not include
Outlook.exe in the Office11 folder and all of the other
applications appear to install. Do you think this is due
to the MST from Outlook 2003 over the original XP MST?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answer.

Based on what you said, I think I will do an upgrade from
Office XP to Office 2003 with all the components being
updated to the Office 2003 level. since Outlook is not a
completely independent application from the rest of the
office components.
