I need help! I have a little home network involving a desktop and a
laptop, both running Windows XP Pro. I have been successful at
installing Office 2007 and OneNote 2007 on the desktop. However, when
I attempt to install either of those programs on the laptop I get an
"Error 1606. Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Recent\.
Error 1606. Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Recent\."

How can I get these programs to install on the laptop?

from the DVD, so it's a local install, not network install. If the other
computer has a DVD drive, install directly from the local DVD drive.

Sorry, still not getting you. Are you saying to copy the
%USERPROFILE% to the Laptop Hard drive, is that correct? Now, where
do I find the %USERPROFILE% file?

I had the Office 2007 CD in the DVD drive of the laptop when all this
is happening.

oh, sorry. I thought you were trying to install from the network. you're
using roaming profiles? try logging in as local admin.

I am always logged on as local Admin. I think you are on the right
track with the suggestion to copy the %USERPROFILE% file to the laptop
to make it a local installation. I just can't find the %USERPROFILE%
file.
