I installed XP as an upgrade to Win98 a while ago. I did the install by
booting directly off the install CD, re-formatting C before doing the
install. This worked great.
Now I want to install a new SATA C: drive.
Given that my copy of XP is already activated, will my new install get
"bounced" by MS?
The old C: drive will be re-formatted to become my new D: drive, this
rolling upgrade is something I've done for years now and it I find has
loads of advantages, you can physically segregate system data and user data
and you continue to get the benefit of the storage space on the old drive.
TIA
