I recently upgraded my computer from a 20.5GB AT Fireball Plus AS hard
drive to a 100GB Maxtor Ultra ATA/133 hard drive. Upon boot up, I get
the following message:

Detecting HDD Primary Master [F4 to skip]

The boot up stops here and does not go any further. My machine specs
are as follows:

Intel 350Mhz processor
Award Modular BIOS V4.51PG / ASUS P2B ACPI BIOS Rev 1006

My thought is that the BIOS needs upgrading or that this HDD is simply
not compatable with my current system. Only one hard drive exists in
this system.

THanks for any help!!!

The older bios may not be able to see a large drive. I was having this same
problem on an older board with a 80 gig drive. Did your drive come with a
install disk? Using it may work to create a overlay which will fool your
system into seeing a larger drive. You can also try flashing your bios, or
using a promise card in a PCI slot. The promise card will have a built in
bios that will see the larger drive.

watch the wordwrap. If the latest BIOS upgrade doesn't help, you need to
upgrade your PC, as your mobo doesn't support 48 bit HD addressing.
