Hi

I need to install a printer/photocopier directly into a network running Win
2000 Server does anyone know any good sites to get comprehensive guidance on
how to do this. I know a little about TCP/IP and DHCP but not a great deal
about Directory Services

Install the printer on the network, configure the printer with ip adresse
and sharename, update DNS and install the printdriver via a printqueue on a
w2k server to act as the printserver. Publish the printer i AD and then you
are ready to print...

See if the information at
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/Printing to Print Server device.htm
helps. If the printer/photocopier has a network connector (i.e. RJ45 for
Ethernet), it has a built-in "Print Server". Most of these things used DHCP
by default and you should be able to find the IP address it received from
the printer/photocopier's front panel (this stuff is very make and model
dependent, so there is no generic method).
