Okay, my video driver expired or something like that...to where some one on
her told me to go to the manufactureing website and download the new driver
for my computer. which i did and have in a folder. I looked at the read me
files to figure out how to install them. i did what it said and took me to
the installing process. then once it goes through like half the process a
window "pops" up and says: "Windows could not load installer for display.
Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." then it gives you a button of
"ok" and its over. it cancels.. so my question is What do i do to complete my
installation...and what is a hardware vendor? thanks again.

Did you get any utility disks with your PC when you purchased it? One of those
disks probably has the video driver on it for installation. Once that is
installed
go to the vendor's (manufacturer of your video card) download updated driver
(that's probably the one you have downloaded) and install it. I have never
heard
of video cards having an expiration date, they are part of your system
forever.
Updates for drivers are mostly provided by the manufacturer and are free.
Some
have stopped updating after a number of years.
