I am new to XP. I downoaded, to my desktop, Microsofts
Antispyware (Beta). Are there any specific Installation
Instructions? Any help with the installation would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Paul,

Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) currently is available only in English. You
should not install Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) on computers that are running
operating systems in other languages.

The minimum system requirements for Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) are the
following:
.. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or a later version
.. A processor that runs at 300 megahertz (MHz) or faster
.. At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM
.. Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows
2000
.. At least 10 MB of available free space on your hard disk
.. Internet access with a connection speed of at least 28.8 kilobits per
second (Kbps)

If your system meet the above requirements and you are willing to install a
beta program, simply run the set-up file to start the installation. After
successful installation, the Setup assistant is presented to you :-)

yea when installing Microsoft Antispyware Beta disable
your antivirus and any other security application you
have because it might prevent microsoft antispyware beta
from installing properly.

During installation, when it all the way goes
to "Installing Microsoft AntiSpyware" step, the
installation fails and a dialog box popped up with
message "The system cannot open the device or file
specified" (Retry or Cancel). Note: my PC has been
upgraded with XP SP2 and have 1GB RAM and huge storage
space. Need help. TIA.
Daniel
