Hello,

Today we received the development kit along with a developer license.
I've been working with the evaluation kit for 6 months now.

When I try to install from CD1, I can only remove the evaluation
tools. So I did. When I run the installer again I can install the
tools.
However, while registering components the installer throws the
following errors:

Could not register: regxpe.dll, UIUtils.dll, cmi.dll, cmim.dll,
duscaut.dll, importfw.dll, imprtinf.dll, kdfimporter.dll, sdiaut.dll

Should I unregister these files manually ?

Thanks,

JB

I tried unregistering the dll's, but install still throws errors.

Target Designer starts up bit it's still the evaluation version,
allthough I uninstalled it (as mentioned in previous post).

I was told I can only build licensed images with a registered Target
Designer, is this correct ?

Any of you got similar problems while switching from eval to non-eval
?

Thx,

JB

I've been looking into it further using filemon and regmon and it
seems that during installation the following keys are not found:

For the dll's from my first post

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\C:\Program Files\Windows
Embedded\bin\regxpe.dll

So I tried adding these values manually (I know, risky).

Another key for which I don't know the values:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution
Options\cmi.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution
Options\cmim.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution
Options\atl.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution
Options\mfc42u.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution
Options\uiutils.dll
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution
Options\regxpe.dll
....

Does somebody have these values ? I thing these values only occur on
PC's that have non-eval tools.

Oh yeah: I followed some online advice and already installed WSH 5.6.

The last thing I want to do is reinstall my database (nobody garantees
this will solve the issue).
