Installing Internet Explorer 6 SP 1

My initial install failed so I downloaded again and
reinstalled successfully. But now when I review my
install history, it lists one install as successful and
another as in progress. How do I get rid of the one in
progress ??

You could remove that entry from iuhist.xml.
I use Notepad for that.
Use Open With and select Notepad.
Make sure you have a backup of the original to restore if needed
otherwise you may be in deep trouble.

Each item in the list starts with <itemStatus and ends with </itemStatus>
You will have to identify the item you like to remove, select it
including above mentioned start and end and press delete.
Take care you don't delete anything more than required and don't add
anything, no spaces, returns, absolutely nothing!
Save the file before leaving Notepad.
