Installing HP LaserJet 1100 on XP

I am trying to install my HP 1100 LaserJet on my computer, but the disk I
have is for windows 95. I downloaded driver from microsoft site, but can't
detect printer. Can you help, please?

Check the HP website for the latest XP compatible drivers for your model
printer and whether or not they are supporting your printer in XP. Drivers
are the responsibility of the device manufacturers and all drivers including
those that ship with XP and those at Windows Update are supplied by the
manufacturer.

Further, the drivers at Windows Update are rarely the latest and are only
there as a result of having gone through the Microsoft testing process.
However, as other updates for the system are released and installed, the
operating system environment changes and may change the functionality of
drivers which is why you need to check the manufacturer's website for the
latest drivers for your device.

If HP has later drivers and you still have this issue, you will need to
contact HP tech support as this is their responsibility.

The driver is included in XP.
