Installing harware printer problems Windows XP Pro

When I install any new hardware either manualy or if it
is detected goes through to the finish on the wizard and
then says "An error has occured during instalation" "The
system cannot find the file specified. Any ideas on what
file its talking about, where it is and how to put it
where it should be or get the file to put there?
