Installing fixes & patches

Hi,
Is it possible to install fixes and patches in W2K & XP
logged on as user rights only?
Basic user has minimal rights so damage is minimal
too... :)

I would be grateful of any suggestions.
 
Hi!

Perhaps SUS server would be something for you? It's a
freeware from MS. Version 1.0_SP1 deploys *only* critical
security patches to W2K, XP, W2KServer & 2003Server. Uses
autoupdate client (included in W2K_SP3 & XP_SP1) and can
be setup to "no user interfearance" during patch
downloading and installation.
Read on forums that ver 2.0 will be released later this
year and has more functionality; Win patches, Office
patches and service packs + several distributions options.

Looks interesting but how can you cay it;s "from MS"
(assuming you mean Microsoft)
