Hi,

I'm trying to install my Ethernet card on my Windows XP system.
However, crap dumbass Windows XP insists to install its "own" drivers
each time automatically, without me being able to stop it. Whenever I
choose to uninstall, it removes the item from the device manager.
Neither updating driver works, since XP thinks it "couldn't find any
better software". I used to install my XP without SP1, and it worked
fine. But Windows with SP1 is better after all, and it's already
installed. Is there a work around this?

Many thanks in advance.

Greetings,
Rudolf.

I forgot to mention;

I can't connect with the internet that way. I know I need the
manufacturers driver to be able to connect to the internet properly.
Can anyone help out? Thanks in advance.

Does your network card show up as ok in the system configuration with the
'crap dumbass' drivers installed?.. and why have you not elevated to SP2
yet?..

When you select to update the driver do not let Windows search for
one.

To do this.
Select Update Driver
Select "No not at this time" on the screen where it asks if it can
search...click next
Choose "Install from a specific Location" click next
Choose "Dont Search I will choose the driver to install" click next
Click "Have Disk"
Navigate to where the driver is saved that you want to install.
Choose the .inf file for the driver and then continue from there.
