I have a 2 month old Dell with Viv Core 2 Duo Processor 1.86, 32 Bit, 1 GB
Ram, Vista Premium, with aero etc activated, and a fast broadband connection.
Thanks to the sidebar Ram meter, I saw that when I have 4 or 5 windows open,
media center playing music, am receiving and sending emails, that the Ram
indicator is in the red, at 80-95%. I was advised by a PC technician that
since I don't play video games, use a camcorder etc it wasn't really
necessary to install more memory. I read about Corsair TurboFlash, it sounded
a cheap, simple way to increase memory, so I bought a 1GB USB stick. I
plugged it into one of the USB ports (any port is O.K??) the autorun dialogue
appeared, I clicked 'speed up my system' saw under 'computer' that it was
installed, but I haven't seen any change whatsoever in the Ram meter usage?
Perhaps it takes a while for the stick to store frquently used programmes? It
says plug and play - easy upgrade for all vista systems, but there were no
instructions! Is there anything I need to do to check it is compatible? Do I
have to do anything to configure the USB key? I'd be interested to hear of
other people's experiences and grateful for advice! Thanks!
