Hey, um, I want to install my cd-rom/dvd-rom hardware
from an old computer, but I already have a cd-rom/cd-rw
drive, but i do have too slots to add another...I was
wondering if having 2 cd-rom drives would harm my
computer, and how do I get the silver cover that protects
the empty space off?
Thanx...

You will find that most people have two CD/DVD in their computer. I
currently have 2 CD-RW's in mine at home and there is no problem.

For the silver cover, since most brands are different and you didn't
state which computer you have, I would recommend taking a closer look at
it. It may just pull out or there may be a screw or two holding it on.

It won't harm your computer at all. Many people have two CD
drives. You can have as many as you want, subject to these
limitations:

1. A place to mount them
2. An available controller for them
3. Sufficent power
4. Available drive letters

and how do I get the silver cover that protects
the empty space off?

This can vary somewhat from case to case, but usually you can
just push it off.
