Installing CD on Dell GX150 slim (SFF) where there was no CD originally

I previously posted this to a Dell group but no one was able to tell
me how you actually can remove the front panel on the GX150 slim (SFF)
system in order to install a CD drive (in a system shipped from the
factory with no CD).

I purchased a used GX150 slim (SFF) system on Ebay. It does not have
a
CD drive. There is a blank plastic panel where the CD would be. I
cannot figure out how to remove this panel in order to install a CD.
I also purchased a slim CD but it looks as though additional hardware
(a tray and/or side brackets) would be needed to install it. Any
help
would be appreciated.

If anyone can tell me how to create an opening in the front panel on
this system, I would be grateful.

First step would be to open the cover, and look at the inside, for
any release tabs.

Ah, OK, I found a picture. It uses a plastic insert, with release tabs.
The tabs have to be pressed, so the indent clears the fascia on each tab.

Should be clear sailing, if you can find all the necessary bits and
pieces. Looks like a nasty bit of custom work, but necessary to fit
in such a small space.

Although the manual relates to 3 GX150 models (small form factor,
small desktop and tower), the picture that you linked relates only to
the small desktop model (which uses a full size drive and has a
different front configuration), not the small form factor (SFF or
slim) model which uses a half-height drive. The two models are
different. The SFF model does not have a front filler piece that pops
out as in the picture. I still can't figure out how to remove the
flat front panel from the half height CD slot on the front of the SFF
model that I have.
