Installing Business Contact Addin problem

We are running Outlook 2003, and wish to install the Business Contact addon
that allows us to do some good stuff. But after installing it we realized
the domain user needs to be added to the BCMUsers group. The office "guru"
who helped setup our system stated because he used private policies on the
domain it is not possible to add the user or it is too much work, so his
workaround is to place the outlook files in a public area for everyone to
access so that it (the data files for the business contact manager would be
placed in a public are I meant).

Is this correct or should there be any issue with using the addin? At
present it gives an error message when starting up Outlook cannot connect to
database, due to the fact the domain user is not in the local group.

Hi,
In order to associate a BCM database to the Outlook profile, the user id for
the machine should either be an administrator or should be a member of the
BCMUsers group. This user id is used for logging into the SQL database which
BCM creates on the local machine and hence the above requirement is necessary.

Hence this solution of simply placing the BCM installation files at a shared
location will not solve this issue.
