Installing app for single user in XP

The only way u can do this is if the application supprots
it, when installing it will ask u to install for all users
or just you. if the application doesnt ask you, u cant do
it.

What about using WinXP's file and folder permissions? This is one
of the reasons such functionality exists, you know.

I guess, but my main point was that you can change a user's access to a file
or folder.
Your point is noted for future reference.
 
You can on local users with HE as well. Note however that since HE
authenticates network users as "guests", you can't specify network shares at
the user level, but that same situation exits with Pro with simple file
sharing disabled.

But you can very easily specify local user permissions on HE.

Please don't change the subject line, it really messes up the threading on
