Installing an old 9600xt AGP card, having slowdowns with Catalyst 9.3drivers

Can anyone recommend an older Cat driver to try?

What kind of slowdowns? Lower-than-expected framerates in games, or
generally slow Windows operations (menu animation, etc.)?

Windows operations (as you said, slow menus, etc).

I am exploring into kernels and mixing the best of the best. I want to
hit the 5000 on the 3d mark 03....Or Pixel 3.0 Patches for any games

ati driver 6.14.10.6534 driver only, no ccc
Windows xp home
On board sound
7200 HD

I think the x800 card is the differance, With no o/c, I just ran
3dmark03 and got 9156. Mabey you can scoop
a x800 card cheap. Its an old card, but it still rocks.
