Someone help Please! Where can I find step by step
instructions on connecting two computers running 2000
professional? (networking for dummies was no help) The
host computer has a CNET PRO200WL PCI fast ethernet
adapter which is enabled. It also has a Netgear fast
ethernet adapter which is not enabled. The second computer
has a Linksys LNE100Tx(v5)fast ethernet adapter installed.
They are connected to a Linksys EZXS55W version 2.0
switch. At one time these computers where connected as
part of a 3 system network we had at our business. It
can't be as hard as I'm trying to make it but I've burned
a weekend and still no network. The ultimate goal is to
share my satellite internet connection with the second
computer. Direcway has a 50 page configuration guide for
Microsoft internet sharing but it's based on having the
network alerady installed. I've tried finding help on the
Microsoft.com website, the Linksys website and
homenethelp.com website and none of them mention the
actual connections to the switch, or to the ethernet card.
Thank you in advance for your help

STEP1: Give both hosts an IP (ex: host1: 170.0.0.2 and host2:170.0.0.3
STEP2: Give both hosts the same mask (255.255.255.0
STEP3: Give both hosts the same gateway (ex. 170.0.0.1

Both your hosts would better be part of the same workgroup

Hope it helps...........
