Hello all!

I'm thinking of buying a new hard drive for my old computer. I haven't
figured out which one I want yet, but for example's sake let's say it's a
Western Digital 120Gb 7200RPM WD120BB. My computer is a 400Mhz AMD, running
on a Asus P5A-B motherboard.

Before I buy the hard drive, I'd like to know if there are any possible
problems with attaching this new and big hard drive to my old motherboard.
I've searched the web and did not find anything, but that does not mean that
there won't be problems. I'd appreciate your comments, past experiences,
possible problems and corresponding solutions.

Nikita.

PS: If it matters, I run, and will continue to run, Win2K Pro.

Buy one that comes with a controller card.

I really doubt a motherboard that old would have a bios that can recognize a
120GB hard drive.
My guess is that the motherboard bios would maybe recognize a 20GB, maybe
40GB.
If you got a "retail packaged" 120GB with it own controller card, that
might work.

Personal I would get a new motherboard/CPU/memory, before trying to get a
120GB drive.
