Installing a fresh copy of XP

If I "install a fresh copy of XP" on a hard drive that already has XP on it, will it wipe out all of the files that I already have on the drive?

No! have done this several times. Don't overwrite the original and all data
should be preserved. rename second install something like Win XP2.

Anyone have anything to add as I'm not an XP expert. :-)
