Can anyone advise how to go about installing a 2nd
monitor to increase screen real estate? (Is there not
a 'wizard'for this kind of thing?)I seem to get
conflicting advice on the possibility of doing this using
XP Home Edition

many thanks

DO you have a laptop (with a built in screen and a VGA port),
then just plug it in.

If you have a floor standing unit you will probably have to
have a second VGA/SVGA card installed.

thanks for your help..
I have a desktop computer and I have installed a second
graphics card. The 2nd card is not being recognised and
throws up an error code (Same port as 1st card?).If the
2nd card is correct should this setup be possible
generally speaking with XP home. My primary card is a ge
force 4 nvidia

cheers

You've figured out the problem. Perhaps with these you'll
figure out the solution.

You could try (from an MWJ article <http://www.gcsf.com/>)

* ProMax DH-Max dual-monitor card
US$299 single AGP-slot card drives two monitors at up to 2048 X
1536 using Matrox chipset; also composite video outputs; currently
no 3D or DVD playback support, however

&-format=prddetail.lasso&-recid=33418&-find>
-----------

Sometimes, if a card is inserted into the PCI slot next
to one in the AGP slot, at the same time, there can be an
IRQ conflict. Try moving to the next PCI slot if this is
the case,
