When doing an initial install of XP I am trying to load a
third party raid driver (HPT372). The array hs been
created and is correctly recognized by the bios.

Upon attempted installation, XP finds and loads the
correct raid driver then stops at with the
message "TXTSETUP.OEM could not be found." The file is on
the floppy disk along with the driver. It appears that XP
may be trying to locate the file from a location other
than the floppy? I no longer can select another raid
driver either to try and overwrite the inital selection.

The system stops (0x0000008E) if I try to proceed.

Hello

You need to make sure that you have the most currrent driver
that supports Xp

Hello

That being said maybe you should try a raid controller card or a
different brand or make.

the raid drivers must be on a disk. the file txtsetup.oem
MUST be in the root.

normally, if you copy the drivers off a cd to a disk...the
txtsetup.oem IS on the cd...put it in the floppy root and
copy all subfolders while maintaining the directory
structure.

example...my txtsetup.oem file is in root, xp drivers in a
folder. the txtsetup.oem file tells the xp installer
WHERE the drivers are.
