Hi everyone-

I use Access 2002 for almost all my database work. I have gotten a new
client for whom I'll be expected to install version 2003, just of Access,
not of the entire Office. I've run multiple versions of Access concurrently
before, but just thought I'd ask if anyone is currently running 2003 and if
there are any pitfalls of running 2002 and 2003 on one machine that you
might forewarn me about...? I have an extra laptop that has Access 2000,
and if it's wiser, I'll install it on that one, although I'd rather do the
work on my main machine...

I have full versions of Office XP and 2003 installed on the same machine.
The only pitfall which I can see that may be a problem for you is that
mixing versions (I don't) may result in some references problems if you are
using references to other Office applications.

Hi Arvin-

Thanks so much for this reply. I have a question about your response. What
do you mean by "mixing versions"? I have run two versions of Office on a
single machine before, as you seem to do also. So that isn't what you mean
by "mixing versions". Could you explain? (Sorry if this is totally obvious
and I'm just missing the point...!)

Hi Betsy,

By mixing versions I mean Word or Excel 2000 and Access 2003 or something
similar. Because of automation code, references are often set between
applications and it is too easy to lose references to applications in
another Office suite.
