Hello, yesterday i installed Visual Studio .NET Enterprise (Architect
Edition)

On microsoft page, it says it includes J# and Smart Device Extensions for
developing on Pocket PCs.

I installed it, and in two days, i've not been able to add those
funcionalities, i downloaded the .NET Compact Framework SDK,
and a J# package, but they wont be integrated within Visual Studio.

Anyone knows why this happens?

On my about window, it says that i have the following version:

Microsoft Development Environment 2002 Version 7.0.9466

Is that really the Visual Studio .NET???

I didnt get any options on the installation for J# or the SDE.

My whole goal is to port an existing Pocket PC application which I built
entirely in Java, i wanna do it now in .NET, we got the trial, which took us
about 2 hours installation, and now im frustrated cause it doesnt have what
it promesed.

Anyone from Microsoft or someone that was in the same situation?

Please I need help.
If you want to see our product, go and see the demo www.straec.com
It would be an excelent sucess story for Microsoft if implemented on .NET
im pretty sure.

Smart Device Extensions is a discontinued add-on for VS2002. Microsoft page
refers to VS2003 which includes support for developing smart device
applications out of the box. This only applies to VS.NET 2003 Professional
and up (and academic)

2 things
1- AFAIK there is no SDK for .NET CF, currently.

B - VS2003 includes the capability to build smart device apps.
However, the .NET CF includes support only for VB and C#, not for J#.

sorry !

Good points. I haven't read the whole post.
