Installers do not work

After installation of SP4 and (according to the log) successful installation 832894. Update keesp telling me to install this cum. update again. I also tried to install 831167 but it will not work reason winnt\system32\advpack.dl

Now all other installers also will not work (JAva upgrade etc) files are unpacked but nothing happens afterward. What could be the cause (W2K SP4 IE6 SP1

I did sfc /scannow but no messages came up. When I search C drive for advpack.dll. It shows two files dated 4-9-2002 in the system32 and the dllcache, however in servicepacks\i386 the date is 19-6-2003 (but older version

It seems the SP4 was still in BETA.... just think, you didn't even know you
were testing.

So I uninstalled SP4 but problems persist< suggestions

Only the one I posted below advpack.dll The rest just stops. I.e. netscape, MSBA and java install. MSBA reports it could not be completed but does not say why
Spybot does install so does PC doctor, that is the weird thing, can I find error messages in some log file
