I have a Windows XP pc that was running Office XP
standard. It was upgraded to Office 2003 for smal
business. Everything works with one small glitch;
everytime the PST file is access the window installer pops
up and installs something. All of the old data is still
there and accessible. I would like to beable to open my
PST with the installer coming up. Any thoughts would be
helpfull.

thanks

Method 2: Modify the Registry
Click Start and then click Run.
In the Open box, type Regedit and then click OK.
Locate and select the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common

Select the UserData DWORD value for the above key.
On the Edit menu, click Rename.
Rename the UserData DWORD value to UserDataOld.
Find the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common

Find the following value: OSAShortcut. If it does not exist, create it. On
the Edit menu, click New and then click Dword. Name the value OSAShortcut,
and then set the value to 1.
On the Registry menu, click Exit.
Start any Office program.NOTE: The same Windows Installer dialog boxes
appear one more time.

When you are prompted, type your name and initials in the User Name dialog
box, and then click OK.
