i have a record now cd burning program that when i click to open it, i get a
windows installer dialog saying
please wait while windows configures record now.
gathering required information...

(it was saying it could not find the files and to put the cd in or something
like that and now it is saying it wants to put back a program i have recently
uninstalled.)

i then have to hit cancel and it begins again and then i hit cancel again
before the programs finally opens.

is there a way to stop this from happening and allow the program to just open?

thx in advance.

Uninstall whatever third party program this is, reboot and install it fresh
along with all patches the manufacturer of said product supplies.

thanx for responding.
i cant do that as it was installed when i got the computer and also program
updates for this version are no longer available.

Obsolete then.

Uninstall it and find a proper replacement that does what it does.

Still, the suggested method is the only way to fix the installer
problem.
