Installer problems

When I run an application that I have written in VS, it can approch the
files it uses alright, also via the LAN, but when installed (rather than
running in VS) it needs <<user checking>> to be switched off. Oher
applications that I have written and installed in the same way as far as I
am aware, do not have this problem. The problem concerns a Vista Business
box on which I use (MS) Security Essetials. The same application does not
have this problem when installed on a Windows 7 box also using Security
Essentials.

Any idea what the cause might be?

The cause was Microsoft's "Security Essentials", it appears to cause a bug.
