update Win Xp now it downloads the files but can not install them I have no
clue how to fix this issue. If anyone knows hot to correct this problem let
me know. I have tried to fix it but the only thing I know that is left to do
is to totaly reinstall Windows Xp and I don't want to do that Please Help me.
Thank you all for your time and efforts.

Dont follow the 1st post, youre getting the updates, just not getting them
installed...Go to run,type:msiexec /unregister Return to run,type:
msiexec /regserver Next,return to run,type:services.msc In msc,scroll to
installer, double click on it,select "auto run" from manual, start
service,close out
msc

i think u have a problem with registry and spyware both i used a registry
cleaner and a spy sweeper worked for me

JF, I also am having this problem after installing a new hp PRINTER. i have
uninstalled. I tried the installer clean up but I get this message cleanup
utility failed and say either the windows is running in
safe mood or windows installer is not correctly installed!
