Hi,

I had a system crash a few days ago and had to resort to
using the recovery CD I got with the PC. I then proceded
to, not repair but do a ful install of Windows XP.
Unfortunately, I did it in a seperate folder. I now have 2
versions of XP running at the same time creating serious
performance issues. one in C:\Windows, the second one in a
folder: C:\C\Windows.

How do I uninstal the second one???

Please help, no help line was able to answer.

Hi Kiki,

Boot to the one you want to keep. From Windows Explorer delete the system
folders for the one you wish to remove. Then, start/run C:\boot.ini and
remove the line that references the unwanted system. If you are unsure what
to remove, copy/paste the contents into a reply.

Hi Rick,

I ll try that as soon as I get off from work. By the way,
how exactly do I choose which XP to boot on? Is that
somewhere in the same (dos?) options menu as the
CD/DVD/A:/C: device boot choice?
Many thanks for the reply.

KK.

Hi,

Which you choose is up to you. Just boot the one you want to keep.
