I just completed the installation of SP2 but now Firefox won't load. I
reinstalled it but with no success. I haven't heard of this problem - has
anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

It works for me under XP Home SP2.
Any ideas?

I installed SP2 and quite a few things wouldn't load. You can remove it via
the Add/Remove programs control panel. It just doesn't work on some
machines, yours and mine included. Wait for a bug fix from Microsoft.

I was getting a little paranoid thinking it was some kind of Microsoft ploy
since it was the only browser that wouldn't load. I removed SP2 and I'm not
sure I'm going to ever use it. I have all the critical updates and don't
need the other services it provides and I use IE for a single financial
website. Just ticked off about all the time I spent messing with the thing.

Sounds like SP2 is best left on the table.

My company has perhaps 60,000 desktops and laptops. Of those, perhaps 20%
are running XP (most are still running 2000).

Of the XP workstations, NONE are running SP2. Specific SMS-distributed
patches were distributed to PREVENT anyone from updating to SP2. It's just
untried, untested, unproven ... too risky. And, given the lack of value, it
may never be implemented here.
