Have two machines on my domain that will not let me have
access to the software installed in them. I need to have
visibility of this item and I have tried looking into all
the security settings (locally) and services. No Luck!

I use Dameware NT Util for this; when I try to access, it
asks for authentication - 'incorrect password or unknown
username for:' (eventhough I have domain admin rights and
local rights) and no matter what password is used,
There must be a registry hive or something that I might be
able to import, or something.

We are currently under deployment and time is short. It
would save me time I don't have to fix it rather than
reload machines with all their software. (Sorry, no ghost
image-I wish).

Please need help.

It may be a problem with the security option for lan manager authentication
level which you may want to back down a bit, especially if they are configured
to send ntlmv2 response only, refuse lm and ntlm. I would compare all the
security options to machine that are not giving you a problem. --- Steve

came across this the other day - check the dameware client INI file - you
may find that either the local or global group membership requirement is set
to YES, but the group specified is incorrect or does not exist
