I have installed remote desktop on our laptop running xp
pro. I can access the laptop fine from my desktop running
2k. However, when I attempt to log into the laptop locally
under the same account as I used remotely, using the
correct password, I get a message, "did you forget your
password?"

Local login should work and should automatically disconnect the remote
desktop session. Are you 100% sure that you're entering the right
user name and password? Try changing the login password from the
remote session and then logging in locally with the new password.

How did you install remote desktop on XP Pro? Did you enable it in My
Computer | Properties | Remote, or did you do something else?
