Hayley Raffill

Hi

Please can someone help me find out what I have done wrong. I recently
upgraded my graphics card to a ATI Radeon X700 Pro.

I have a AMD Athlon XP 2800+, but since installing the graphics card, I am
now being informed that I have a AMD Athlon 1.24GHz.

Any advice will be warmly received.

Looks like it's reporting the actual clockspeed of the CPU and not its
PR Rating.

For example, my AMD 3500+ actually has a clock speed of 2.2GHz.

I'm so grateful to the USA for their contribution to the war on terror.
After all, if they hadn't funded the IRA for 30 years, we wouldn't know
what terror was.

Before installing the graphics card Sandra and Device Manager was reporting
it as 2800 - any reason why it would change after installation?

Informed by what? Chec in BIOS that you have correct FSB.
System may have set Safe settings.
Mike.

1.4 GHz would be a AMD 1700+ ... and if it was a decent overclocker you
could run it at 2.2 GHz! That's what mine use to do - oh happy days :o)

Michael you are a superstar - I have changed the FSB setting from 100 to 166
and now Sandra and System Properties are reporting correct speed!

Thank you!

God only knows. Seen it before on my own PC though where XP would
sometimes report my XP3200 as the clockspeed.
