Installed Java Versions

Hi:

I have been updating Java versions as they came out. However, apparently the upgrades do not remove the older version, as I have 4 different versions listed in Add/Remove Programs and also 4 version folders showing under Java in Windows Explorer.

The 4 versions that I show installed are: Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.1_02
Java 2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.1_07
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Can I remove any of the 3 versions prior to the latest Update 6 and if so, how and in what order of removal?

yes, remove anything prior to the latest update. Uninstall in any order you
wish.

Hi Tom:

Removed them on both a desktop and laptop with no problems. I started with
the oldest version first and uninstalled forward.
