Installed hotfixes with MSI package

Hi,

I recently created several msi packages to install windows
hot fixes and update all PCs through Group Policy.
Everything seems to work fine and the hot fix shows up in
add/remove programs. The problem occurs when I go out to
windows auto-update - after scanning a PC that I just
updated and restarted it shows that several of the hot
fixes that I just installed need to be installed again. If
anyone can help me I would appreciate it. My company does
not want to use SUS and they want each hot fix to be a
separate MSI.

How exactly does your MSI install the hotfixes? Does it run the hotfix
executable? Make sure that you're doing a per-system install too.

I have done it two different ways. One was to create the
MSI installing the executable and the second way was to go
to the auto update site and install it that way. Same
result with both attempts.

I am not sure if I am clear on what you mean by per-system
install. I have the package installing to the computer
and not the user if that is what you mean.

Installing for the system is what I was referring to. My guess is that the
hotfix program does something that your MSI doesn't, and that's what Windows
Update looks for.
