Installed HDD from latop into PC - Does not load XP

Hey! I took my HDD from my sony laptop that has XP Home SP2 and put it into
my desktop using the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter. The only thing that comes up is a
screen saying that windows was not shut-down properly and asks what I want to
do: start win normally, safe mode, etc...But no matter what I choose, it just
keeps on looping. Any ideas? Would it be a problem with the HDD looking for
specific hardware and since it doesn't see it, it won't load XP? Thanks

If you are trying to boot your desktop with the hard drive from the sony
laptop, it ain't gonna happen. The desktop has a different motherboard,
video card, sound card, network card, motherboard chipset, etc.
