A friend of mine was having trouble with her computer and someone wiped
everything out. I can start the recovery but it always goes back to the blue
screen. I have used the restore cds but they won't go any further. I have
downloaded anything and everything I can think of but I can't access it
because it won't go to the c: prompt. CAN ANYONE HELP ME!?

If the recovery cd's result in a BSOD, and I assume its a destructive
recovery, ie format etc then it would likely point to a hardware problem

Who manufactured the computer?

I have a similar problem. I have a laptop with a bad internal wireless
adapter which was causing the BSOD on bootup. I went into safe mode and
disabled it and replaced it with an external adapter. Everything worked
fine. Then I decided to completely reinstall the system with the laptop
recovery CDs. This is where the trouble started.

The recovery is a two step process. The machine loads a bunch of files to
the hard drive and then reboots to go into windows to complete setup. The
problem is that it has been configured for the internal wireless adapter
after step 1 (file copy) and when it tries to boot, it gives the BSOD again.
I tried to go to safe mode to disable it as I had done before but I can't get
into safe mode because it says the system is not fully installed.

I believe the way to fix this is to use a boot utility after the file copy
but before the attempt to boot into windows. If I knew where to look, I
could alter the necessary file or files to disable the internal wireless
adapter before step 2 where it boots into windows. I already have a copy of
SystemSuite 8 which allows me to see and alter all files on the hard drive
after the file copy step.

Does anyone know where to look to disable devices? I could remove the part
from the laptop but that is a huge job and the adapter may be part of the
motherboard.

I believe MISSY73061 could use the same procedure if the part causing the
BSOD could be identified.

Thanks!
