Is it possible to install Windows Vista and Windows Xp Pro on the same
HardDrive and run them both seperately? If so please tell me how. Thanks.

You need to either set up 2 separate partitions on a single hard drive, or
have 2 hard drives. Next, install XP pro on one of the hard drives (or
partition). Finally, install Vista on the other. When you turn on your
computer, you will be prompted about what computer you would like to boot
from. If you don't answer in a pre-defined amount of time (30 seconds is
default), then it will boot to the default OS.

I've tried both but every time I boot, it starts up in Vista. In the
bootloader of XP
there is no sign of Vista being present (after the installation of Vista)
and in Vista
the boatloader cannot be edited.
Please tell me how to solve this

You need to start the install of Vista from within XP.

Partition drive into 2 partitions.
Install XP on first partiton
Boot into XP
Start Vista setup
Tell it to install on the second Partition
Vista setup will then install Vista and set up a dual boot with XP.
Vista will be the default on the resulting boot menu.

What if I already have windows xp pro installed on the comp. and now I just
want both xp pro and vista on the comp. do I have to reformat the entire hard
drive again and reinstall them both?

Yes, unless you have partitioning software, or a second hard drive.

Probably not. Since you normally install the older OS first anyway when
doing any dual boot, having XP on first shouldn't be a problem. But do
note, when you do dual boot, the different OS' have to go into different
hard drive partitions (or, alternatively, on different physical hard
drives). So if you don't have the free partition for the new OS (Vista)
already, you have have some partition maintanence to do.

Possible -- yes. But, I wouldn't do it.
