Installation woes

Here's the deal: We bought Access Upgrade 2000 to put on
a machine that already had Office 2000 on it. After a
couple of years, that machine died an ignominious death.
We bought a new machine that came bundled with MS Office
2003 Basic. We want to install the Access app on the new
machine, but keep getting the error "Cannot Find A
Qualified Program..." (more or less). My thinking is that
the upgrade is looking for 2000 or earlier versions of
Office products, and it just ain't seein' the 2003 files.

Am I off base here, or am I running into a problem I'm
just not seeing?

In any case, how can I get the app loaded? We have *WORK*
to do! :O)

e-mail replies would be appreciated, due to time
concerns ... thanks!

You are guessing correctly on the problem. If you still have the old Office
CD/floppies (2000 or older), the Access upgrade should allow you to "show
it" the CD, then go ahead and install. You shouldn't need to reinstall
Office 2000. Of course, ideally, the answer would be to upgrade to Access
2003.

Upgrading would be MY call ... but we have other machines
still running Access 2000 that we need to be able to
transfer files to/from (not networked... all stand-alone
machines, "sneaker-net" transfers). I'll try it the way
you suggested.
