My brand new Compaq Presario V3011 does not seem to be able to accept either
of my plug and play removable memory drives (an Easydisk 256MB & a SanDisk
255MB)
The laptop reconginises that they are there (familiar sound when attached),
but can't install them (and thus can't read them) because according to the
Installation Wizard it is already installing a device - only when it is
finished can it install new devices. But I'm not installing anything as far
as I know?? When I open the task manager, there is no reference to anything
in the process of being installed.
I have never had a problem with either of these memory sticks before. Has
anyone experience this problem with this Presario model? Does anyone know how
I can convince my machine that it isn't actually installing anything? Or at
least stop the installation process?
Thanks in advance for any tips!
