Hello,

When I try to install Windows Vista RC1 On my Medion MD6200 Laptop I get a
STOP: 0x0000007E ( 0xC0000005, 0X88BC3C1B, 0X818035BC, 0X818032B8 ) Error. I
also tried the original Windows Vista Beta 2 DVD which Microsoft send to me a
while back. The MD5Sum is consistent with the one given on the Microsoft
Website.

Underneath the Stop line there is nothing stated. So nothing which can point
me in any direction what so ever.

The Laptop has the following specs:
Processor:PIV 2.66
Memory: 512MB
Harddisk: 80Gb
Video: nVidea GForce FX/Go

I hope someone can point me in any direction to solve this.

Regards,

Bas Steelooper

I received the stop error when the initial progress bar was at its end
The first bar when I first booted from the DVD.

I tried several ways now to install.
- I tried a clean install from DVD ( Boot from DVD )
- I tried an upgrade from in Windows XP
- I tried a clean install from in Windows XP

- My laptop has a SIL Chipset
- A Creatix CTX-172 Wireless Network Card ( Tried with and Without this card )
- On board Card Reader
- FireWire on board.

The strange thing is that The compatability wizard finds no problems other
than that MSN, Symantec not supported is and that I have to manualy upgrade
the programs.

I realy hope that someone can help me.

The link Jane C gave me : http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=330182 didn't
help. That assumes that windows has started. My laptop hasn't started before
so the problem is on the DVD.

Devices

After you upgrade, go to the Windows Update website to

CREATIX CTX712 Wireless LAN PCI Card CREATIX

download the latest driver for this device.

Programs

I think it is nothing shocking.....
But maybe I'm mistaken.
I tried installing without the WireLess Network card in my laptop. But no
luck.

I had this occurring on a system fitted with an MSI K7N2 Platinum
motherboard.

I managed to make the system stable and bootable by booting Vista into
safe mode and installing the MSI motherboard drivers.

After this, the Ethernet port didn't work due to a driver
incompatibility, but removing the device from device manager and re
detecting it fixed that issue.

Hope this has been of some help

I stated "installing the MSI motherboard drivers", but neglected to say
that I used the Windows XP ones ... sorry.

I found the following:

When I do an upgrade from Windows XP I get an stop error just like in the
screenshot.
But when I restart without the DVD I get a boot menu.

In this bootmenu I can press F8 for more options ( not F6 for different
drivers )
I choose safe mode, and saw that the blue screen occurred just after
disk.sys is loaded.

I have a different HardDrive. Is it wise to try and exchange those two, and
see what happens or is it a problem with the IDE port on my motherboard?

I have given up.
I tried so many things. And I don't get it anymore.
I tried another HardDrive but still no luck :-(

Maybe RC2 is beter for my system.

Regards,

Bas
