I have ordered Home Premium. Currently have Vista RC2 on my machine.

C drive contains Vista with a D drive which has an old Vista install on it
(without boot option) for some reason I cannot format D drive, it errors
out.

Anyway, when I get to install new Vista Home on my C partition, assuming I
boot from the DVD and enter setup. Will I get an option to format C prior
to install? Or do I just choose C drive and let it do its own thing
overwriting what I already have?

Further information:

To make matters more complicated, I have just realised the D drive does have
bootable Vista on it. I wish to get rid of both partitions and start
afresh.

If this is the full version of Home Premium or an OEM version. You'll be
able to boot from the DVD, wipe both partitions merge them if they're on the
same disk and reinstall clean.

Or you could keep the data intact and move the old Windows directories to
Windows.old (if you don't format or repartition this is the default).

Assuming you ordered the full version and not an upgrade, you will be able
to boot from DVD and delete and recreate partitions during setup. If you
ordered the upgrade, you'll need to reinstall XP first before running the
upgrade.

Thanks Paul. I don't recall this being on the beta. Maybe I just did not
try it, so many installations, I forget what I have tried.
