I've bought a similar adaptor to connect my keyboard (PS/2) to my laptop
(USB). But it's harder than I first thought. When I plug the USB adaptor
(with the keyboard in the adaptor) to my laptop, I don't get any message of
"New hardware found", nor a sound.
My keyboard (its a simple, cheap one, but it works) has power, but I cannot
type anything. Doesn't work...

how can I install this keyboard on my laptop with the adaptor? thx a lot...

btw: Windows XP Pro

Bit of a language problem here. Would be easier to explain in
dutch :-)
In english, an adapter can be either a rewiring device
('verloopsteker' in dutch) or a convertor, I think.
The plug you show is likely to be only for rewiring, not a
convertor between PS2 and USB. (Although they seem to exist
also.)

If you buy a e.g. a Logitec mouse or keyboard, you find such a
plug in the package.
But the plug does not contain any conversion electronics.
It's the device (keyboard, mouse, etc) that has both PS2 and USB
electronics on board. The plug merely serves to convert the plug
arrangement.
My keyboard (its a simple, cheap one, but it works) has power, but I cannot
type anything. Doesn't work...

Because it is a PS/2 device, lacking support for USB :-)

Not, I'm affraid.
