I run an ASUS P4C800-E, 3.2ghz, 1 gb ddr400 ram, ATI1600 pro. It's a couple
years old. I ran the 'ready for vista' tool, and passed with flying colours.

The install itself is abnormally slow. It takes 4 minutes to get to the
language screen, another 4 minutes after clicking next, and another 4 minutes
to get to the cd-key screen.

After files have expanded and installed, once the computer restarts it
attempts to start windows for the first time. At this step, the computer
blue screens and reboots instantly. I cannot determine what the problem is
because the system reboots so quickly.

I've run the repair tool, and it came back saying there was a
failureonstartup, and points to external media. I can tell you that after
pulling every device out of the computer, except the dvdrom and the hdd,
mouse and keyboard, the problem persists. I am truly dumbfounded here...For
$350.00 this thing should install in 15 minutes, and run like a dream. what
is going on here?

I know you've most likely done this over and over but just on
the off chance, have you made the appropriate changes in BIOS
when you have taken things out?
