Installation Problem

I recently got a new Canon G3 digital camera that came with software. When I
try to install the software I get error 1607 which is the installer can't
find the script. Now I've gone to the Canon site and looked up the problem
and it sends me to http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108340 and
I've done every thing that it says with the same results. Any one out there
have any ideas of a way to fix this. Is there a place or way to reinstall
the installer that comes with Windows XP pro. I have all the latest updates
and other programs install fine.

I might add at the moment Paint Shop Pro 8 is reading/writing to the camera
just fine but I still want to check out the software that came with the
camera.

Thanks Mary but again that didn't fix it since it doesn't show as installed
nor is the info in the registry. At any rate I just installed a couple of
other programs without any problem so it could be a damage file on the CD.
I'm now trying to get another copy of the CD.
